About
The Department of Western Languages and Literatures aims to study the linguistic and literary heritage of Western cultures with scientific methods, to analyze this heritage with contemporary theoretical approaches and to provide students with critical thinking, comparative literature reading and intercultural communication skills.
The department adopts an interdisciplinary approach to education focusing on Western languages such as German, French and English. Students not only acquire language skills but also develop the competence to evaluate the literary works of these languages in their historical, sociological and philosophical contexts.
Our expert academic staff offers students the opportunity to think and interpret a wide range of European literature, from classical texts to modern narratives. Our graduates build successful careers in many fields such as academia, publishing, cultural industries, translation, media and international relations.
