As part of Fırat University's 50th anniversary celebrations, the 3rd International ISPRUD Congress was successfully held in Elazığ from April 7 to 10, 2025. Hosted by the Department of German Language and Literature at Fırat University, the congress was shaped around the theme "The German Language – A Bridge Between Cultures" and made a significant impact in the international academic community.

The congress was organized in collaboration with the German Language Association (Verein Deutsche Sprache), ISPRUD (Die Internationale Sprachunion Deutsch), Fırat University, and the University of Warsaw. During the event, which brought together leading scholars in the field, the critical role of the German language and culture in intercultural interaction was discussed from multiple perspectives. Participants from various branches of philology added richness to the congress, which turned into a true festival of ideas, fostering not only scientific discussions but also cultural exchange.

At the opening ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Mustafa Taner ŞENGÜN, Head of the Department of Western Languages and Literatures Prof. Dr. Abdulhalim AYDIN, and Head of the Department of German Language and Literature Dr. Lecturer Mehmet ÖZTÜRK were present.

Drawing strength from tradition and moving confidently into the future, Fırat University made a valuable contribution to both the academic community and international cooperation with this prestigious congress. The steps taken here to breathe new life into language and cultural relations are poised to illuminate the path toward more inclusive and conscious societies of tomorrow.
